This Bank Holiday Monday marks the annual Charter Day in Retford! This event, which commemorates the granting of the town charter in 1246, is perhaps the biggest fixture in the Bassetlaw calendar - and certainly one of the busiest days for us.
This is a free 'fun-day' suitable for all the family. The day is kicked off with a traditional parade, followed by markets, games and activities in King's Park and the Market Square. These include a craft fair, a vintage tractor and car show, and the legendary duck race! If you do go to the markets in the Square, be sure to pop in and say hello to us - we're right opposite the Town Hall.
Come say hi!
We're crossing our fingers for a sunny day (judging from the weather forecast, we'll be rain free at least!) and hope that all turns out as well as it did last year.
And yes, we'll be open all day, fighting the good fight on the tea & cake front! Call us on 01777 948354 for reservation enquiries.
