26th November will mark our fifth birthday!
To celebrate, we’re launching a very special coffee, called ‘Swordfish’, which we will begin serving on November 19th. We have only six 1kg packets – so when it’s gone, it’s gone!
Our coffee broker is a stone’s throw away from airfield which was a key base for the RAF during World War II. This is where 1,699 Fairey Swordfish planes were built by the Blackburn Aircraft Company. The Swordfish was instrumental during many successful wartime missions (including the sinking of the Bismarck) and was well loved for its adaptability and reliability.
This coffee is a tribute to that great aircraft. With Remembrance Day so close, this is of great relevance right now. We would also like to note that we are selling poppies for the British Legion in the café.
Swordfish Tasting Notes
A traditional coffee, skilfully engineered with blue sky thinking. It is smooth, subtle and sweet.
Artisan Blend – fine coffee from around the world
A blend of Arabica and Robusta from Columbia, India, Indonesia. Two high quality single estate Arabica’s and a premium volcano grown Robusta. Swordfish blend makes a smooth full bodied espresso with nut & chocolate flavours, a lingering tangerine finish and subtle zesty acidity. With milk the orange notes are toned down creating a well-rounded and smooth cup, characterised by nut, a pinch of chocolate, and an inviting aroma.
